Refunds & cancellations

Clear outcomes for both sides. During the test run, card payments and payouts use test money only.

Tasker never shows up

What the poster gets

Cancel free if no Heading to pickup, Arrived or In line step has begun by 15 minutes after the scheduled time, or 45 minutes after claim for an ASAP task. Your full authorization hold is released.

What the tasker gets

No task payout. A late mark is recorded for owner review, not an automatic strike. If work has started, report the issue instead.

Work is not as described, or an order never arrives

What the poster gets

Tap Something wrong? and report within 24 hours of delivery/done for food or pickup tasks, or 72 hours for other tasks. Safety reports have no deadline. The owner reviews the evidence and can approve a full or partial refund, ask for more information, or decline it; a refund is not automatic.

What the tasker gets

The task is held while the report is reviewed. You can add your side and photos within the requested deadline. The owner can release the hold or adjust the outcome; no guaranteed payout while a dispute is open.

Poster cancels before claim

What the poster gets

No cancellation fee. The entire card hold is released.

What the tasker gets

No task has been claimed, so there is no task payout.

Poster cancels after claim or after work starts

What the poster gets

Before work starts, scheduled cancellations within two hours of the start cost half the tasker’s agreed pay; earlier scheduled and not-yet-started ASAP cancellations have no tasker fee. Once work starts, half the agreed pay applies. If a purchase receipt has been uploaded, the full tasker pay plus purchased items applies. The exact charge, including applicable fees, is shown before you confirm. Late-tasker free cancellation is the exception above.

What the tasker gets

The applicable cancellation payment is half the agreed tasker pay, or full pay plus purchased items after a purchase receipt. After Finished or Delivered, neither side can cancel: the poster must confirm or report. Unreported tasks auto-confirm after 24 hours.

Duplicate or technical charge

What the poster gets

Contact Help with the related task. The owner reviews the actual payment and can approve a refund up to the amount collected. There is no automatic duplicate-charge refund.

What the tasker gets

Payment problems are reviewed individually. A reported task can be held until the owner resolves it.

Repeated false claims and account restrictions

What the poster gets

Three refund-type reports in 30 days trigger additional owner review, not an automatic rejection or a finding that a report is false. Open chargebacks restrict posting and claiming.

What the tasker gets

The same evidence review applies. Three unrevoked semester strikes cause a 14-day restriction; late marks alone do not. Contact Help to appeal a strike.

Delivery proof

Pickup/delivery tasks require a drop-off photo. Food orders in the $30+ tiers and grocery receipts over $30 require a handoff PIN. If the poster is unavailable, the existing 15-minute wait and photo process applies.

Approved refund options

Choose DormHand credit or a refund to your card after approval. Credit becomes usable once finalized; card timing depends on the card provider (normally 3–5 business days). Releasing an uncaptured hold is not a new charge or a cash payout.

Damage Pledge

Physical damage caused by a tasker may qualify for discretionary review up to $100 per task, reported within 72 hours with photos. It is not insurance or a guaranteed payment. See the Damage Pledge for exclusions.
